At
Hawk Ridge Furniture (tradename for furnituremaker Paul R. Donio),
my work balances the traditional values of early American design
with contemporary style and function. I have admired early New
England furniture and architecture for nearly a quarter of a century.
The simplicity of design, attention to balance and proportion,
choice of materials, and unquestionable integrity of construction
has always struck a chord in my heart. It is these values that
I celebrate in every piece of furniture made here at Hawk Ridge.
Each piece
is individually crafted using traditional joinery that has withstood
the test of time. Dovetail, mortise-and-tenon, and pegged joinery
add strength and simplicity. I work with solid hardwoods of local
and exotic origin, and apply hand-rubbed oil finishes to bring
out each wood's natural beauty.
Hawk Ridge
Furniture provides discriminating design and craftsmanship for
clients throughout New England and beyond. Whether your preference
is Shaker or Buddhist, Queen Anne or Frank Lloyd Wright, I will
work with you to create a piece that expresses your style using
the appropriate design, materials, and construction. Your piece
will last for generations.
From rural
vernacular to formal period furniture, I strive to create a balance
between the unique character of the selected wood and the elements
of design. The following images are just a sampling of the range
of pieces that are availableplease visit my
