The furniture I've been making for the past ten years has been drawn from a variety of themes, including shaker, simple country, colonial and modern. I use the time-tested joinery techniques of mortise-tenon and dovetail joinery primarily for structural reasons.

But I also enjoy using many subtle variations of these traditional methods with an effort to compliment a piece with a more esthetically pleasing, less mechanized, human feel.

I welcome an interchange in the process of creating graceful, hand-crafted furniture that encourages use, promotes enjoyment and invites discovery.

Hall Table

Mahogany hall table:w/ band-sawed veneered zebra wood, book matched w/ walnut and cocobola inlay. The legs were hand planed half round on the inside and angled on the outside. The deep wavy curl in the grain of this zebra wood (zebrano) is very unusual and dramatic.

Music Stand.

Cherry w/ lighter sapwood on the inside; provides a frame for the spalted maple book-matched panel. The post is inlaid with walnut and maple.
