The
chair you see pictured was part of an order from the Princeton
Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. I made three of
these chairs, copying two that they already had, and a Communion
Table. The originals of these items are pictured in Wallace Nutting's
FURNITURE TREASURY; the chair is plate 2101 and the table is plate
811. All these items reside in the recently renovated Seminary
Chapel and can be seen there. To see more examples of period reproductions
and adaptations please visit my website: www.jasbecker.com.
There you will see a representative cross section of my work including
various period, Shaker inspired, and contemporary designs. You
will also find more comprehensive contact information along with
a map and directions to my shop.
When
you visit www.jasbecker.com
I recommend you click on the "STYLES" icon and then click on the
following green highlighted listings: Glen's Chest, George and
Marie's Chest, Two Door Chest, Hope's Huntboard, Pencil Leg Table
Desk, Queen Anne Sofa Table.
Do not feel limited by or to what you see. More than half my work
is one-of- a-kind, pieces I have not made before. I would be happy
to work with you to design and or to price something in a style
to suite your tastes. I have many amateur photos in addition to
the professional photos on my website. Call or e-mail with an
explanation of your particular needs; I may have some more photos
or drawings that would interest you.ΚΚ
Thanks for your interest in my work. If you have time please send
me an e-mail explaining how you got to this site. We, the
group of furniture makers listed here, are interested in what
route you took, what you think of the site and, most importantly,
your reaction to our work.
Sincerely,
Jim
